Dr. Hamza Esmili
Hamza Esmili is a postdoctoral researcher within the “Deradicalizing the city” project at KU Leuven. He defended his PhD in anthropology at Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales in 2021. His work is focused of religious reaffiliation among immigrants and their children in Europe as well as the various politico-theological forms of life that emerge from the contemporary reinvestment of the Islamic discursive tradition. Simultaneously, his work questions how such a religious form of life can be received within the liberal society.
